Project radios for the fixer in all of us. These listings need some kind of work — a dead bulb, an untested unit, a repair job — so they're priced at least 40% below market to cover the trouble. Same fair-value math as our clean deals, deeper discount for the gamble.
How Tech Specials work
Needs-work flag: every listing is flagged with what the seller disclosed — "bulb out," "untested," "no power," etc. We report what the listing says; we don't diagnose.
40% rule: the total cost (asking price + shipping) must sit at least 40% below the working-unit fair market value.
Sold as described: these are project units. Know what you're getting into — that's the whole point of the discount.
Same lifecycle: sold listings drop off after 7 days; unsold listings are removed after 30 days.
Fair values come from genuine sold listings (eHam classifieds + our sold-comp ledger). Tech specials never appear on the homepage clean-deal feed or in reels — this page is their only home.
